Ajla Dizdarević
has worked as an editor and educator in the United States and Europe. A graduate of Vanderbilt University’s MFA in Creative Writing program, Dizdarević has poetry published or forthcoming in Southword, The Hopkins Review, Conduit, RHINO, The North American Review, and other magazines. Her translations of Serbo-Croatian (BCS) poetry have been published in Asymptote Journal, Exchanges, and Versopolis. She is the recipient of a scholarship from the Department of Cultural Affairs, a Fulbright grant, and a David Hamilton Prize. Dizdarević’s debut collection of poetry, What I Learned About Dogs in the Village, will be released in February 2027 with Carnegie Mellon University Press. Ajla loves hamsters and rabbits and currently has two bunnies: Lada, a double-maned Lionhead, and Chippy (Chips Ahoy), a Holland Lop.
